With the threat of high winds and rain (which, this being CO, didn’t quite pan out – cold winds but very little rain), our coaches, athletes and families traveled north to Greeley West Highland School for the Puli-lifting* Regionals.

The Dogfather and our coaches – Amanda, Anjelica, Gabe, Jonathan, Josh and Rebekah – joined our su-paw-star athletes – Andy, Anthony, Bill, Dean, Jerome, Jimmy, Luis, Mai-Lin, RJ, T and Zach – as they faced Mastiff com-pup-tion.

All of our lifters took this op-paw-tunity to per-fur-m fur-bulous, paw-inspiring lifts and set PRs and even a State record!

T had a grrrrrrreat day, setting a state record of 315 in the deadlift! She then broke that record and set a new state record of 320 lbs! A video of the 320 lift is on our Instagram account.

In the squat, Jimmy set a PR at 185 and Jerome’s PR lift was 260.

In the bench press, Andy set a PR with a lift of 100, Anthony set a PR of 45, Mai-Lin set a PR of 75. Jimmy tied his PR of 185 and T tied her PR of 140.

We had a lot of PRs in the deadlift. Andy set a PR with a lift of 160. Anthony set his at 85. Jerome’s PR was 375. Luis’ PR was 225. Mai-Lin set a PR of 160 then broke it with a PR of 165. RJ set a PR of 290 and then broke it with a PR of 300. Zach set his PR with a lift of 275.

Ulti-mutt-ly, our lifters brought home 18 – 1st place ribbons, 6 – 2nd place ribbons, 4 – 3rd place ribbons, 7 – 4th place ribbons, 1 – 5th place ribbon and 1 – 6th place ribbon. Great job everyone! We are very proud of our athletes!

At the end of a wonder-fur day, our dog-tired athletes, families and coaches headed south toward home and rest.
